Delta State Athletics Hosts Conference Tournaments and In-State Rivalry Games This Week

Delta State University’s athletic teams are busy this week with conference tournaments and in-state rivalries. The golf and tennis teams are competing in the Gulf South Conference tournament in Dickson, Tennessee, while baseball and softball host Mississippi College in key series.

The Gulf South Conference golf tournament runs through Thursday in Dickson, with championship central providing updates. Meanwhile, the men’s and women’s tennis teams face Lee and West Florida in the GSC quarterfinals in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on Wednesday.

Softball hosts Mississippi College on Friday at University Field, with a doubleheader scheduled for Saturday. The softball series includes a Senior Day celebration, and live stats, video, and radio broadcasts will be available. Baseball faces Mississippi College in a series that begins Friday and continues through Saturday, with both games also featuring live stats and broadcasts.

Delta State’s teams recently earned a notable victory, completing a three-game sweep at Auburn Montgomery and moving into third place in the GSC standings, according to school officials. The baseball team also achieved a 4-3 win against No. 16 West Alabama earlier this season.
