Belhaven Baseball Earns ABCA Academic Team Honor

The Belhaven University baseball team has been named a recipient of the 2025-26 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack and published by the American Baseball Coaches Association. The award recognizes teams with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the academic year.

Belhaven is among 800 schools across high school and college levels to earn this distinction. To qualify, programs must be affiliated with the ABCA, have a current ABCA member head coach, and meet the GPA requirement, according to the association.

This academic achievement coincides with a successful season on the field. The Blazers returned to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year, finishing as co-champions of the CCS regular season and runners-up in the CCS Tournament. They secured an at-large bid to the Marshall Regional, continuing their postseason run.

The ABCA has a long history of recognizing excellence among coaches and student-athletes. Its awards include the ABCA/Rawlings All-America Teams, All-Region Awards, Coaches of the Year, Hall of Fame, and the Dave Keilitz Ethics in Coaching Award.
