The American Baseball Coaches Association announced the recipients of the 2025-26 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award, recognizing over 800 high school and college programs nationwide. The award, presented by Sports Attack, honors teams that posted a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the academic year.
Among the recipients are nearly 500 college programs and more than 320 high school teams, including Jackson State. Coaches were invited to nominate their teams after the spring semester, with a deadline of July 17. To qualify, programs had to be a high school or college baseball team with a current ABCA member head coach and meet the GPA requirement.
The ABCA has a long history of recognizing achievements in baseball, including the ABCA/Rawlings All-America Teams established in 1949. Its awards program also features regional and national coaches of the year, the Hall of Fame, and the Dave Keilitz Ethics in Coaching Award.
