LEXINGTON, Ky. — Alcorn State University track and field athletes Trellas Forrest and Derrick Williams competed in the NCAA East Regionals on Wednesday at the UK Track & Field Complex.
Forrest ran in the men’s 400 meters, finishing in 46.24 seconds. He placed fourth in his heat and was 36th overall in the region, ahead of other HBCU athletes from North Carolina A&T and Norfolk State, according to the school.
Williams, the SWAC champion in the 100 meters, competed in the first round of that event and finished in 10.56 seconds, eighth in his heat. He was unable to compete in the men’s 200 meters after sustaining an injury during the 100-meter race.
