Alcorn State Lands Six on Phil Steele All-SWAC Preseason Team

Lorman, Mississippi — Six Alcorn State football players have been named to the Phil Steele FCS Preseason All-SWAC Team, the publication announced this week. The team recognizes the top players from all Football Championship Subdivision leagues nationwide.

Three players earned first-team honors: offensive linemen Cameran Rogers and Eric Thomas Jr., along with defensive lineman Demetrion Duvall. Rogers, a 6-foot-4, 330-pound junior from Theodore, Alabama, played in 11 games and contributed to an offense that averaged 24.25 points per game. Thomas Jr., a 6-foot-3, 245-pound junior from Columbus, Mississippi, recorded 26 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, and four sacks in 12 games. Duvall, a 5-foot-11, 185-pound junior from Akron, Ohio, served as the team’s punter, averaging 42.7 yards per kick with a long of 63 yards.

The second team included offensive linemen Jaden Bryant and Abe Diallo, as well as defensive lineman Kenneth Andrews. Bryant, a 6-foot-4, 344-pound transfer from Norfolk State, helped block for the Braves’ rushing attack. Diallo, a 6-foot-6 junior from Seffner, Florida, was a key part of the offensive line, which helped rush for 178.3 yards per game. Andrews, a 6-foot-3 junior from Akron, Ohio, finished the 2025 season with 33 tackles and two sacks.
