Smithville wins two games on road to advance to North Half championship
The Smithville Lady Seminoles went on the road in the third round of the state softball playoffs against Myrtle down 1-0.
Their two game offensive explosion ensured they got a pair of victories and moved on to the North Half Championship against Pine Grove.
The Lady Noles churned out 31 hits and 29 runs to win by scores of 10-4 and 19-15 to clinch the victory, survive and advance.
In the first game, Annie Morgan led the way with a homerun and a triple. Orlandria Smith added a homer and 3 hits. Tara Parham and Taylor King each had a double while Emma Hester and Maddie Mason each had multiple hits. On the mound, Chloe Summerford got the complete game victory.
In game two, Taylor King paced the potent offense with a homer and 4 hits. Hester, Lara Woods and Mason all contributed multiple hits. Morgan and Summerford added doubles. Summerford again took the mound and the complete game victory.
The victory moved Smithville into the North Half Championship, set to start Saturday at Pine Grove.
