Choctaw Central enters midpoint of season as top team in new class
After an offseason jump from 3A to the 4A classification, the Lady Warriors of Choctaw Central find themselves in familiar territory.
That is to say, they are on top of the Mississippi Sports Network 4A midseason rankings.
The Lady Warriors have won their last two games by an average margin of 44 points, including a 67-26 drubbing of Baldwyn at the Tupelo Christmas Hoops Challenge.
In that contest, Choctaw Central got off to a slow start before they started connecting from three point range with their second unit.
Choctaw Central outscored the Lady Bearcats 41-13 after the first quarter.
In all, ten Lady Warriors scored on the night. They were led by Kyla Farmer with 11, Shantashia John with 10 and Meloney Thames with 9.
