Ole Miss Golfer Cooper Claycomb Ranked 23rd in PGA Tour University Rankings

Cooper Claycomb, a senior on the Ole Miss men’s golf team, is ranked 23rd in the latest PGA Tour University Top 25 rankings, announced Wednesday. The rankings, a partnership with the World Amateur Golf Ranking, assess players based on their collegiate performance over the past two years.

Claycomb transferred from Louisville, where he was ranked No. 114 in the WAGR. He has a strong collegiate record, including two PING All-Region honors, six top-five finishes, and nine top-20 results. He has shot 18 rounds in the 60s and 49 rounds of par or better.

His career-low round is 64, which he shot at the Fighting Irish Classic, and his lowest 54-hole score is 201, a 12-under at NCAA Regionals last season, where he finished third overall. Claycomb and the Rebels begin their season September 13-15 at the Inverness Collegiate in Toledo, Ohio.

The PGA Tour University rankings are updated weekly and will determine tour membership for the top 25 players after the NCAA Championship. The No. 1 ranked player earns PGA Tour membership, while ranks 2-10 earn Korn Ferry Tour status, and 11-25 qualify for PGA Tour Americas.
