Titans’ Jeffrey Simmons Dominates in Week 3 Performance

Jeffery Simmons showcased his dominant skills during Sunday’s NFL games, leading the Tennessee Titans with 10 tackles, including two for loss. He also recorded a sack and two quarterback hits. Pro Football Focus ranked Simmons as having the third-best run defense grade among all interior defensive linemen during Week 3, with a score of 77.0, according to sources.

Through three games, Simmons has accumulated 20 tackles, three for loss, and two sacks. He ranks first on the Titans with an overall defensive grade of 81.9 and has the top pressure grade on the team at 80.2. The four-time Pro Bowler now has 44.5 career sacks, according to NFL statistics.

Former Mississippi State teammate Montez Sweat also made an impact for the Chicago Bears, recording a sack in Week 3. Sweat now has two sacks this season and 59 in his career. Meanwhile, Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott completed 25 of 40 passes for 276 yards and a touchdown in the Cowboys’ loss to the Ravens.

Other former Bulldogs made notable plays this week. Houston’s Woody Marks scored his first touchdown of the season on a 1-yard run. Seattle’s Charles Cross played all 67 offensive snaps at left tackle, earning top grades in run and pass blocking, while Cleveland’s Elgton Jenkins also played every snap at center, posting a season-best pass blocking grade of 80.2.

Additional players with Mississippi State ties included Indianapolis running back Davon Booth, Jacksonville punter Logan Cooke, Houston defensive tackle Jaden Crumedy, New Orleans cornerback Martin Emerson, and Los Angeles Rams cornerback Emmanuel Forbes.
