The Northwest Mississippi Community College women’s soccer team dropped three spots to tie for fourth in the latest NJCAA poll released Tuesday. The Rangers, with an 8-2 record, suffered their first loss of the season last week against Jones College and Holmes Community College.
Jones College (8-2-1) moved up one spot to become the top-ranked team in the country. Holmes Community College (9-0) also rose one spot to third, while Johnson County Community College (11-2-1) from Kansas climbed to second. The Mississippi college athletic conference, MACCC, has four teams in the top six, including Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (8-0-1), which remained sixth. Pearl River Community College (7-1) stayed at 10th.
The Rangers are scheduled to face Gulf Coast in a road game Friday at 4 p.m. in Perkinston. However, the contest may be rescheduled due to potential severe weather over the weekend.
