Northwest’s TJay Gibb Named MACCC Goalkeeper of the Week

Senatobia, Miss. — TJay Gibb has been named the MACCC Goalkeeper of the Week, marking his first weekly award in his college career. The Northwest Mississippi Community College freshman goalkeeper made 15 saves during a two-game span, including seven against No. 5 Jones College.

The Rangers went 1-1 during the week but stayed competitive in their match against Jones thanks to Gibb’s performance. He followed that with an eight-save effort in a 2-1 win over Holmes Community College, helping Northwest secure its best conference start since 2008.

Through 11 matches this season, Gibb has 52 saves, a save percentage of 72, and allows an average of 1.82 goals per game. The team’s overall record stands at 5-4-2.

Gibb’s achievement follows a previous weekly award for a Northwest goalkeeper—Jacob Little received the honor on Oct. 15, 2024, and went on to earn NJCAA Division II Goalkeeper of the Week honors the following day.

The Rangers are scheduled to play Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College on Friday, with the game potentially rescheduled to Oct. 16 due to expected weather. Updates will be posted on nwccrangers.com and the team’s social media accounts.
