Mississippi State Volleyball Sweeps UT Arlington at Ragin’ Cajuns Classic
Lafayette, La. – Mississippi State closed out the Ragin’ Cajuns Classic with a straight-set victory over UT Arlington on Saturday. The Bulldogs won 25-10, 25-12, 25-20 and improved to 10-1 overall this season, according to the team.
State limited UT Arlington to an under .100 hitting percentage throughout the match and recorded 10 total blocks. Noella Obi led the Bulldogs with four blocks, including a solo block. Bernardita Aguilar led the team with 12 kills, followed by Lindsey Mangelson with nine. Ava Anderson and Obi each added four kills.
The Bulldogs posted strong offensive numbers early, hitting .417 in the first set and recording 14 kills in the second. They also served seven aces, with Cayley Hanson contributing three and McKenna Yates and Mangelson each adding two. Hanson also posted 28 assists, while Yates led defensively with 17 digs. Mary Neal set a new season high with 10 digs.
