Blazer Women Finish Eighth, Sims Leads Men at Rhodes Invitational
The University of the Blazers women’s team finished eighth at the Rhodes Invitational, held over the weekend. The team’s performance included contributions from several freshmen and sophomores, according to team sources.
For the women, freshmen Jocelyn Belonga, Abigail DeJesus, Emily Gaudet, and Virtasia Shepard, along with sophomores Courtney Adams and Ashley Davidson, competed in various events. Freshman Mary Anderson also participated in the meet.
On the men’s side, freshman De’Marion Sims delivered a standout performance, leading the team at the event. Sims, who stands 6 feet tall, was among the top finishers for the Blazers.
The Rhodes Invitational brought together multiple teams, providing valuable experience for the Blazers as they prepare for upcoming competitions, the team said.
