Mississippi State Men’s Golf Finishes Day Two in Third at Canadian Collegiate Invitational

FOOT’S BAY, Ontario — Mississippi State men’s golf is in third place after Tuesday’s second round of the Canadian Collegiate Invitational, according to the school’s athletics department.

The Bulldogs are one of three teams to shoot par or better over both days of the tournament. They and Notre Dame are the only programs with at least four players in the top 20 entering Wednesday’s final round.

Freshman Finn Burkholder shot a 3-under 68 in the second round, tying for ninth overall. He recorded four birdies and an eagle and is tied for first in the field of 73 in par-3 scoring at 3-under.

Gavin Isbell is tied for 14th after carding a 1-under 70, including four birdies and two eagles. It marked his best round as a Bulldog and moved him up 11 spots on the leaderboard. Other top performers include Arth Sinha, also tied for 14th, with a 143 total.

Mississippi State’s team score after two rounds is 568, sitting behind New Mexico and Notre Dame. The final round is scheduled for Wednesday, with the Bulldogs aiming to improve their standing.
