Millsaps’ Zabian Boutan Named SAA Defensive Player of the Week

Jackson, Mississippi — Zabian Boutan, a graduate defensive lineman for Millsaps College, was named the Southern Athletic Association Football Defensive Athlete of the Week on Monday. He played a key role in the Majors’ 57-0 victory over Centenary on Saturday.

Boutan recorded five tackles, three tackles for loss, and one sack. He also forced a fumble that he returned 40 yards for a touchdown with 48 seconds remaining in the second quarter. The score extended Millsaps’ lead to 13-0.

This marks the second consecutive week a Millsaps player has received the SAA Defensive Player of the Week award. Last week, junior Myles Johnson earned the honor after the Majors’ 36-20 win against Belhaven.

Millsaps is scheduled to host Hendrix College on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Harper Davis Field.
