Belhaven Volleyball Players Earn Weekly Conference Honors

Jackson, Mississippi – Belhaven University’s volleyball team earned two weekly honors from the Collegiate Conference of the South on Monday. Maggie Joy Tomlin was named CCS Setter of the Week, and Kayla Robinson received CCS Defensive Player of the Week, the second such award for Robinson this season.

Tomlin, a sophomore, directed a strong offensive effort during a 3-0 week that included wins over LeTourneau, Centenary, and Principia. She totaled 93 assists across 11 sets, averaging 8.45 per set, with a career-high 57 assists in a five-set victory over LeTourneau. She also added 23 assists in a sweep of Centenary and 13 against Principia. Additionally, Tomlin contributed eight kills and six service aces in the three matches, including four aces in the win over Principia.

The Watkinsville, Georgia, native has accumulated 225 assists in eight matches this season, averaging 8.04 per set. She also has 53 digs, 14 service aces, and 13 kills. Her performance helped Belhaven improve to 3-5 overall heading into conference play.

Robinson, a senior from Prairieville, Louisiana, led the team defensively throughout the unbeaten week, finishing with 57 digs—an average of 5.18 per set. She reached double figures in all three matches, with a high of 30 digs in the win over LeTourneau. She added 13 digs in the win over Centenary and 14 against Principia. Robinson leads the team with 142 digs this season and has also contributed 27 assists and eight service aces.

This marks the second CCS Defensive Player of the Week award for Robinson, who previously earned the honor in 2025 after totaling 72 digs across four matches. Belhaven, which has won three straight, will open conference play Friday at Covenant University. The match is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
