Mississippi State Men’s Basketball gets dominating win over Tulane

Mississippi State bounces back from back-to-back losses and dominates Tulane in a 106-76 victory in the Holiday Hoopsgiving Tournament in Atlanta, GA on Saturday.
Mississippi State looked great on both sides of the ball as they scored 100+ points for the first time since 2018 and picked up their most lopsided win of the season. The offense dominated and the defense delivered as this team hopes to continue this great run into SEC play.
Shakeel Moore set the tone for the game as the Dawgs scored a 3-pointer, 30 seconds into the game. Mississippi State started hot, leading 10-0 early in the contest. Cameron Matthews scored a layup 3 minutes into the action to give State a 12-2 and the Bulldogs lead by double digits from that point.
Mississippi State struggled with shooting for the majority of last year but that doesn’t seem to be the case now as they shot 59% from the field in the game and 68% in the first half. The Dawgs also shot 59% from the 3-point line in the first half and 46% in the game.
Freshman Josh Hubbard once again comes off the bench to dominate and score 22 points in a victory over Tulane. Hubbard shot 7-10 from the field and 5-7 from the 3-point line. KeShawn Murphy did a great job around the basket as he picked up 10 rebounds and scored 7 points. MSU had 5 players in double-digit points with D.J. Jeffries also leading the assist column with 7.
Mississippi State will host Murray State at The Hump on Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. The Dawgs will turn around to host North Texas at the Cadence Bank Arena in Tupelo, MS on Sunday at 3 pm with just a few short weeks before SEC play begins.
