Jackson State Soccer Falls to Arkansas on the Road

Fayetteville, Ark. — Jackson State’s women’s soccer team faced Arkansas on Friday evening at Razorback Field in a non-conference matchup. The Tigers battled the Razorbacks for 90 minutes but ultimately fell 5-0.

Arkansas opened the scoring in the 13th minute and added another goal less than four minutes later. The Razorbacks extended their lead to 3-0 in the 39th minute, sending Jackson State into halftime facing a three-goal deficit. Despite the early pressure, Tigers goalkeeper Kianah Farmer delivered a busy performance, finishing the match with eight saves, including five in the first half.

Jackson State attempted to generate offense after halftime. The Tigers took four shots in total, with three coming in the second half. Kaila Tablado and Mia Ortega each forced saves from Arkansas goalkeeper Emily Jenkins during that period. The Tigers’ final shot came in the 84th minute from Karime Antonio-Lopez.

Arkansas added two more goals in the second half, in the 76th and 86th minutes, to seal the victory. Jackson State’s offensive efforts included four shots, three on target, and two corner kicks. Elon Sheffield, Tablado, Ortega, and Antonio-Lopez all recorded attempts.
