Alcorn State Cross Country Opens 2026 Season at Mississippi Christian Opener

The Alcorn State University cross country teams opened their 2026 season Friday at the Mississippi Christian Opener in Clinton, Mississippi, hosted by Mississippi Christian University.

The Lady Braves were led by sophomore Lanise Chilton, who finished 39th overall with a time of 22:22.21. Sophomore Erin Barr finished 44th at 22:54.98, and junior Jasmine Robertson placed 59th with a time of 24:42.20.

Freshman Malinda McCray finished 66th at 25:23.50, followed by sophomore Dshunti Stevens in 77th at 28:07.08. Freshman NaTodja Taylor rounded out the Lady Braves lineup in 80th place with a time of 30:22.21.

On the men’s side, freshman Jordan Mosley led Alcorn State, finishing 66th overall in 18:44.25. Sophomore Darrian Wells crossed the line in 68th at 18:55.80, and freshman Jalen Hardiman was 78th in 19:54.95.

Freshman Conner Allen finished 81st at 20:05.22, followed by Denoach Thompson in 93rd at 22:01.01. Freshman Jor’Dyn Payne rounded out the lineup in 95th place with a time of 23:56.78.

Alcorn State is scheduled to compete next Friday at the ULM Warhawk Invitational in Monroe, Louisiana, beginning at 6 p.m., according to the school’s athletics department.
