Southwest Men’s Soccer extends winning streak to five with victory over Cossatot
Southwest Men’s Soccer continued its winning streak Saturday with a 1-0 victory over UA Cossatot. The match was competitive and heavily defensive, with neither team scoring until early in the first half.
The only goal came on a corner kick, with Ilan Marin delivering the cross that Ethan Jensen headed into the net. Jensen’s goal was the second of the week for him and served as the game-winner.
David Farkas recorded four saves for the Bears, maintaining a clean sheet and playing all 90 minutes in goal. The win improved Southwest’s record to 5-1 and marked their fifth straight victory.
Southwest is set to open conference play Tuesday against No. 9 Pearl River in Poplarville, Mississippi.
