William Carey’s women’s soccer team defeated Faulkner University 7-0 Saturday in Montgomery, Alabama, in a Southern States Athletic Conference match. The Lady Crusaders scored early and maintained control throughout the game.
Boo Mills opened the scoring in the seventh minute, intercepting a pass from the Faulkner goalkeeper and firing a shot from 20 yards that found the top corner of the net. Alba Aguado extended the lead with a header off a free kick from Raquel Diaz in the 37th minute, giving William Carey a 3-0 advantage at halftime. The Lady Crusaders continued their offensive pressure in the second half. Ten minutes after the break, Sara Aguirre scored on a rebound after Kayla Martin hit the crossbar.
Shortly after, Magee assisted Linda Mustered, who scored inside the near post to make it 5-0. Ava Gumpert added to the tally in the 72nd minute, capitalizing on a loose ball in the penalty area. Paloma Paris wrapped up the scoring in the 87th minute with a finish from Magee’s pass.
