Rhodes Women’s Soccer Rolls to 3-0 Victory Over Belhaven

Rhodes scored three goals in the first half Tuesday evening to beat Belhaven 3-0 in Memphis. The Trojans improved to 5-0 with the win, while the Blazers dropped to 1-2-1.

Belhaven goalkeeper Addi Roberts made five saves in the opening 18 minutes to keep the match scoreless. Alexis Whiting recorded the Blazers’ only shot, which Rhodes goalkeeper Lauren Hollis saved in the 21st minute.

Rhodes broke through less than two minutes later. Ella Mullally scored off a pass from Maddie Carter at the 21:45 mark, then added a second goal in the 28th minute with an assist from Kyleigh Wilson. Audrey Rush finished a pass from Kat Stanley in the 39th minute to give Rhodes a 3-0 lead at halftime.

Sidney Roest replaced Roberts early in the second half and made seven saves on seven shots on goal. She stopped three shots in a six-minute span and four more in the final 21 minutes, helping the Trojans maintain their advantage.

Belhaven’s goalkeepers combined for 12 saves in the match. Rhodes held a 28-1 shot advantage, put 15 shots on target, and earned all 10 corner kicks.
