Millsaps Men’s Soccer Dominates Tougaloo 7-0

The Millsaps College men’s soccer team secured its sixth shutout of the season Tuesday night, defeating Tougaloo College 7-0 at Harper Davis Field.

Junior Alden Romano opened the scoring in the eighth minute, setting the tone for the game. Freshman Dakota Vann assisted on the goal, which was followed by an own goal by the Bulldogs to give Millsaps an early 2-0 lead. The Majors continued to pressure, with sophomore Raul Blandon scoring in the 33rd minute and junior Ellis Dykes adding a goal off an assist from Valentin Avila before halftime, extending the lead to 4-0.

The Majors kept their momentum in the second half. Avila scored in the 51st minute, and Giovanni Russo, who made his first collegiate appearance, added the final goal in the 83rd minute. Senior goalkeeper Gavin Pocasangre earned his first start and recorded three saves for the shutout.
