Jackson State Finishes Third at Magicians on the Green Golf Tournament
Jackson State finished third at the Magicians on the Green golf tournament held Tuesday at the Links at Pine Hill in Memphis. The Tigers posted a team score of 31-over par 871, just behind tournament champion Henderson State and host LeMoyne-Owen.
Emmanuel Jensen led Jackson State, tying for fourth place with a final score of 211, including a final-round 71. Jensen opened with a 67 and shot a 73 in the second round. Timur Alalin finished 12th overall with a score of 217 after a 67 in the first round.
Henderson State won the tournament with a total score of 834, finishing six strokes under par. LeMoyne-Owen was second at 866, and Northwest Mississippi finished fourth at 872. The event was held September 14-15 on a par-70 course measuring 6,620 yards.
Individual medalist Brandon Yabandith of Henderson State shot a 204, six strokes under par, to win the event. Several Tigers players finished in the top 20, including Kaden Tibbetts and Trace Carpenter.
