Hannah Owens earns SLIAC women’s cross-country weekly honor

BELLEVILLE, Ill. — William Woods University senior Hannah Owens has been named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Player of the Week in women’s cross country, the league announced.

Owens earned the honor after competing at the Rhodes College Invitational last Saturday. She posted the second-fastest 5-kilometer time of the season in the SLIAC, finishing the Shelby Farms course in 22:04.50.

Her performance placed her 30th among 87 runners. It marked Owens’ 21st consecutive race as William Woods’ top finisher, a streak that spans her entire three-plus-year collegiate career.

Owens has consistently led her team in meets, according to the league release.
