Belhaven Blasts Past Agnes Scott 4-0 with Four-Goal Second Half

Decatur, Georgia — Belhaven scored four goals in the second half Thursday night to beat Agnes Scott 4-0 at Gellerstedt Field. The Blazers improved to 3-2-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play with the victory.

Belhaven controlled much of the first half but couldn’t find the net as Agnes Scott goalkeeper Olivia Rosario saved all four shots she faced before halftime. Abby Jordan tested Rosario again early in the second half, but the breakthrough came at 65:08 when Jensen Ward scored. Ward then assisted Destiny Griffin at 69:13, making it 2-0.

Emma Albarado-LeDay hit the crossbar in the closing minutes before Alexis Whiting capped the scoring at 83:58. Whiting has scored in both of Belhaven’s conference matches this season. Ward led the team with seven shots, four on goal, and finished with a goal and an assist. Jordan and Kinsey Carter each took three shots.

Belhaven dominated the stats, outshooting Agnes Scott 25-0, including 19-0 after halftime. The Blazers also held an 8-0 advantage in corner kicks. Rosario made 11 saves for the Scotties, while Sidney Roest played all 90 minutes in goal for Belhaven to earn the shutout.
