Three Ole Miss Women’s Golfers Earn WGCA All-America Scholar Honors
Three members of the University of Mississippi women’s golf team earned Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-America Scholar honors, the organization announced Monday. The recipients are Nicole Gal, Matilda Björkman, and Kajsalotta Svarvar.
To qualify for the honor, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 and participate in at least 50% of their team’s scheduled competitive rounds during the season. Björkman played in 31 rounds, tying for the third-most on the team this year. Her top finish was a tie for third at the Boilermaker Classic. She recorded five rounds in the 60s and went even or below par 11 times.
Gal competed in 24 rounds, recording her career-low 2-under par twice and tying for eighth at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational last fall. She also posted six rounds at even par or lower. Svarvar, who earlier this month was named to Golfweek’s All-America honorable mention list, led the team with a 71.39 stroke average this season. She finished the year with 22 rounds at even or below par and 12 rounds in the 60s, both second in program history for a single season.
Svarvar secured four top-five finishes, including third at the NCAA Regional, helping Ole Miss advance to the NCAA Championship. The team’s other notable performances this season included matchups against top-ranked opponents and participation in the SEC Championship. All three players demonstrated strong academic and athletic performances during the 2025-26 season, according to the university.
