Southern Miss Reveals 2026 Football Home Game Promotions
The University of Southern Mississippi Department of Athletics announced its promotional schedule for the 2026 home football games at M.M. Roberts Stadium on Monday. The Golden Eagles will open the season against Alcorn State on Sept. 5.
Under first-year coach Blake Anderson, Southern Miss will also host Connecticut for the first time on Sept. 19. Sun Belt Conference opponents include Arkansas State on Oct. 17, Louisiana on Oct. 24, James Madison on Nov. 5, and South Alabama on Nov. 21.
The season features various theme nights and special events. The Sept. 5 game against Alcorn State is designated as the home opener and will include a football reunion for former players. The Sept. 19 game against UConn is scheduled as 601 Community Night, celebrating the local community.
Homecoming will be celebrated during the Louisiana game on Oct. 24, with festivities such as a parade, halftime court presentation, and alumni welcome-back events. The Nov. 5 game against James Madison is themed as Thursday Night Under the Lights with a blackout, encouraging fans to wear black for the night game.
The Nov. 21 contest against South Alabama will serve as Senior Day and Military Appreciation Night. Seniors will be recognized prior to kickoff, and active and retired military members will be honored throughout the event. The game will also feature the return of the Turkey Toss in Spirit Park, and fans can sponsor service members to attend through the Seats for Service campaign, with a $15 donation allowing a service member to attend a game.
