Southern Miss announces 2026 football schedule with game times and TV designations
The Sun Belt Conference, in partnership with its television broadcasters, announced select game times for Southern Miss’s 2026 football schedule on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles will open the season at home on Sept. 5 against Alcorn State, with kickoff scheduled for 4 p.m. on ESPN+ at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at M.M. Roberts Stadium.
Southern Miss will travel to Auburn the following week, Sept. 12, for either a 6:30 p.m. or 6:45 p.m. game broadcast on ESPNU or the SEC Network. The third game features Connecticut visiting The Rock on Sept. 19, with kickoff set for 6 p.m. and the game available on ESPN+.
First-year head coach Blake Anderson’s team begins Sun Belt play on Oct. 6 at Troy, with the game scheduled for 7 p.m. on ESPN2. The Nov. 5 home game against James Madison will start at 7 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN or ESPN2.
The Sun Belt Conference employs a 12-day window for announcing remaining game times and networks for the season. Season tickets are available through SouthernMiss.com, by phone at 601-266-5418, or at the Pat Ferlise Ticket Office during weekday business hours.
The full schedule includes non-conference games against Alcorn State, Auburn, and Connecticut, as well as Sun Belt matchups against teams such as Troy, Arkansas State, Louisiana, ULM, James Madison, Louisiana Tech, South Alabama, and Old Dominion. Several game times and networks are still to be announced.
