Ole Miss Baseball hosts UT Martin for final home game of regular season
Ole Miss Baseball, ranked No. 15 nationally, will host UT Martin on Tuesday at Swayze Field. The game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. and will be streamed live on SEC Network, according to university athletics.
The Rebels recently took two of three games from No. 9 Texas A&M, earning their fifth conference series win of the season. Key performers included Dom Decker, who hit .545 with three stolen bases, and Judd Utermark, who batted .455 with two doubles and four RBIs. Taylor Rabe struck out 14 Aggies without issuing a walk in his start, and Hunter Elliott recorded 11 strikeouts, reaching 300 career strikeouts in the process, becoming just the third Rebel to do so.
Ole Miss enters the matchup with a strong pitching staff. Walker Hooks leads the SEC in ERA (1.91), WHIP (0.82), saves (7), and appearances (16) during conference play. Rabe also ranks second in the league in strikeout-to-walk ratio, striking out nine for every walk issued. The team has struck out 581 batters this season, second-most in the SEC and fourth in NCAA Division I.
UT Martin, coached by Ryan Jenkins in his ninth season, comes into the game with a 25-26 record. The Skyhawks rank seventh nationally in hits (566) and third in doubles (129). They lead the Ohio Valley Conference in runs scored with 409. Key players include TJ Grines, who has 85 hits and 62 stolen bases, and TJ Dunsford, both of whom have at least a .300 batting average. Dean McCalla has been effective in recent midweek starts for UT Martin, including an eight-inning outing last week.
The game marks Ole Miss’s final home appearance before postseason tournaments. The team will continue its season in the SEC Tournament, NCAA Regionals, Super Regionals, and potentially the College World Series, with dates to be announced.
