Ole Miss Women’s Tennis Set to Begin 2026 SEC Championship Play
The Ole Miss women’s tennis team is scheduled to start postseason play at the 2025 SEC Tournament on Wednesday, April 15, at the Headington Family Tennis Center in Norman, Oklahoma. The Rebels, ranked No. 38 and seeded 10th, will compete against 15th-seeded Kentucky at 12 p.m. Central Time.
Ole Miss finished the regular season with a 14-10 record overall and a 6-9 mark in SEC play. The team concluded its regular season with a 4-0 victory over Kentucky this past Saturday. Should they advance, the Rebels will face seventh-seeded Vanderbilt on April 16 at the same location.
The tournament runs from April 15 to April 19. Live scoring and video coverage will be available online, with links provided on Ole Miss’s athletic website and social media pages. The Rebels will rely on their ranked lineup, including singles player Emily Welker, who is No. 19 nationally, and doubles team Andrea Nova and Welker, ranked No. 9.
Kentucky, which finished the regular season with a 9-15 record and a 1-14 SEC mark, has notable individual performances and two ranked singles players and doubles pair. The Wildcats are coming off a conference schedule where they defeated only Missouri.
If Ole Miss advances, the team will play Vanderbilt on April 16. The Rebels aim to continue their successful season, building on their recent win over Kentucky. The tournament provides an opportunity for the Rebels to make a deep postseason run, with the championship set to determine the SEC’s automatic qualifier for the NCAA Tournament.
