Ole Miss Volleyball Heads to Oklahoma for Big Ten/SEC Challenge
The Ole Miss volleyball team is traveling to Norman, Oklahoma, to participate in the 2026 Allstate Big Ten/SEC Challenge on Sept. 2-3. The Rebels (2-1) will face Ohio State (2-1) on Wednesday at 5 p.m. CT and Washington (3-0) on Thursday at 3 p.m. CT. All matches will be held at McCasland Field House and streamed on SEC Network Plus, according to school officials.
Ole Miss is making its first road appearance of the season. The team is led by libero Cameron Bradley, who recently earned SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors after recording 78 digs over three matches. Senior Shayla Meyer has also opened her fifth season strongly, hitting .300 with multiple 18-plus kill performances.
The Rebels have added several key transfers this season, including All-AAC opposite Jorda Crook from UAB, Houston setter Tenesyn Frye, and All-Sun Belt middle Nina Moorer from Texas State. Five freshmen, including middle blocker Ryea Jackson and hitters Jaidyn Hartsfield and Sophie Taylor, are also making their collegiate debuts. Returning players such as Meyer and Tessa Jones provide leadership, along with impact freshmen from 2025, including Keirstyn Carlton, Melia Johnson, and Carly Paugh.
Ole Miss and Ohio State will meet for the third time, with the series tied at 1-1. Their last matchup was a five-set victory for the Rebels in 2018. The team will also face Washington for the first time in program history on Thursday.
In their most recent outing, the Rebels went 2-0 in the Ole Miss Volleyball Invitational but lost in four sets to Loyola Marymount on Sunday. Despite the loss, Cameron Bradley set a career high with 30 digs and earned SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors. Meyer also contributed 19 kills with a .364 hitting percentage.
Ole Miss coach Bre Henry expressed optimism about the team’s prospects for the season, emphasizing the importance of upcoming matches against teams that made the NCAA Tournament last year and other power conference opponents. The team aims to build on its early successes and climb in national rankings as the season progresses.
