Ole Miss Volleyball Falls in Five-Set Thriller to Washington in Norman

Norman, Okla. — The Ole Miss volleyball team narrowly missed an upset Thursday, falling 3-2 to Washington in the final match of the Allstate Big Ten/SEC Challenge. The Rebels (3-2) pushed the Huskies (4-0) to the limit but ultimately came up short in the five-set thriller.

Jorda Crook led Ole Miss with 12 kills, 11 digs, and a career-high six blocks. Cameron Bradley added 23 digs and three assists, while Nina Moorer contributed five kills and a career-best seven blocks. Despite early momentum, the Rebels faced an 18-8 deficit after two quick runs by Washington and lost the first set 25-14.

The Rebels rallied in the second set, with Crook sparking the offense and Moorer delivering key blocks. Ole Miss edged Washington 28-26 to even the match. The third set saw the Rebels take a 24-22 lead, but Washington responded with a 5-0 run to force a fourth set, which Ole Miss won 25-23.

In the decisive fifth set, Washington built a quick 4-1 lead and used an 8-0 run to seal the victory, winning the set 15-5. Head coach Bre Henry praised her team’s effort, noting their resilience despite the tough loss.

The Rebels will return home for the Rebel Volleyball Classic, hosting Southern Miss and Central Arkansas. Their next match is Saturday against Southern Miss at 6 p.m. CT, streamed on SEC Network Plus. Fans are encouraged to support Ole Miss through the ACE Club and Rebel Rewards programs.
