Ole Miss Softball Hires Brooke Vestal as Director of Pitching Development
Ole Miss softball has announced the hiring of Brooke Vestal as the program’s new director of pitching development and performance. Head coach Jamie Trachsel made the announcement, emphasizing Vestal’s familiarity with the program and her passion for developing pitchers.
Vestal, a former Rebel player, will work alongside assistant coach Nancy Evans to enhance pitcher training using the latest performance technology. The team plans to add five new pitchers, joining returning players Lilly Whitten, Graycen Jordan, and Addi Linton.
A native of New Braunfels, Texas, Vestal played two seasons at Ole Miss after starting her collegiate career at Oklahoma. She completed her college career at Texas A&M, where she earned a master’s degree in sports management. Over five seasons, she posted an 18-6 record with a 3.07 ERA and 173 strikeouts in 73 appearances.
Most recently, Vestal has served as a pitching coach for the Texas Bombers 16U Gold program, focusing on mechanics, command, and pitch effectiveness. She is also the owner of Spinny Gals, a pitching performance instruction business, and has worked as a camp director. Her previous experience includes a graduate assistant role at Texas A&M, where she contributed to pitcher development during the Aggies’ 2025 SEC Tournament championship run.
