Ole Miss soccer finishes nonconference schedule with 1-0 win over Belmont

Ole Miss soccer wrapped up its nonconference schedule with a 1-0 victory over Belmont on Sunday at Ole Miss Soccer Stadium, according to the university’s athletics department. The Rebels improved to 7-1-0 on the season and extended their winning streak to three matches.

Ghoreishi scored her second goal of the season in the 15th minute, assisted by Becca Skinner, to give Ole Miss the lead. The Rebels dominated possession and shot opportunities in the first half, outshooting Belmont 10-0 and earning all five corner kicks during the opening 45 minutes.

The Ole Miss defense held Belmont to just two shots in the match, with none on goal. Goalkeeper Taylor Prigge earned her sixth win of the season after playing the first half, while Anna Claire Jacobi contributed to the shutout in the second half. The Rebels finished with a 15-2 advantage in shots and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.

Ole Miss will open Southeastern Conference play on Friday against Mississippi State at home. The match is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT and will be streamed on SEC Network+.
