Ole Miss Punter Oscar Bird Named to Ray Guy Award Preseason Watch List

Augusta, Ga. — Ole Miss senior punter Oscar Bird was named to the preseason watch list for the 2026 Ray Guy Award, the Augusta Sports Council announced Friday.

Bird appeared in all 15 games for the Rebels in 2025, helping the team rank third nationally in net punting with an average of 43.6 yards per punt. The Australian native averaged 46 yards per kick, with 41 punts and only one touchback. He also placed 14 punts inside the 20-yard line and sent 15 over 50 yards.

The final watch list will be announced in early November, with 10 semifinalists selected by a committee later that month. The three finalists will be named at the end of November, and the winner will be revealed during the Home Depot College Football Awards show on Dec. 11.

Ole Miss is coming off a college football playoff semifinal appearance last season. The Rebels are scheduled to open the 2026 season on Sept. 6 against Louisville at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.
