Mississippi State Punter Ethan Pulliam Named to Ray Guy Award Preseason Watch List

STARKVILLE, Miss. — Mississippi State punter Ethan Pulliam has been named to the 2026 Ray Guy Award Preseason Watch List, the Augusta Sports Council announced Friday. The award is given annually to the nation’s top collegiate punter.

Pulliam, a Starkville native, took over full-time punting duties during the 2025 season. He finished the year with a school-record 46.8 yards per punt, surpassing the previous mark set by Andy Russ in 1996. His performance earned him recognition as a Midseason All-American by The Sporting News, an All-SEC Third Team selection, and a Second Team All-America nod from The Sporting News.

Entering the 2026 season, Pulliam is listed as a Second Team preseason All-American by The Sporting News. Off the field, he recently donated money for school supplies for the Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District.

The Ray Guy Award watch list will be narrowed to 10 semifinalists on Nov. 6, with three finalists announced on Nov. 24. The winner will be honored during the Home Depot College Football Awards show on ESPN.
