Ole Miss Men’s Golf Ranked 19th in Golf Channel Preseason Poll

The University of Mississippi men’s golf team is ranked 19th in the Golf Channel’s Top 30 Preseason Rankings, the network announced Monday. The Rebels are entering the 2026-27 season with a largely new roster, returning only four players from last year and adding five newcomers.

Senior Collins Trolio, from West Point, Mississippi, is expected to provide veteran leadership. Last season, Trolio posted a 72.61 stroke average over 33 rounds and helped Ole Miss win the SEC Championship by defeating No. 1 rated amateur Jackson Koivun in the semifinals. His experience will be vital as the Rebels aim to defend their conference title and improve on their national standing.

Among the newcomers, Cooper Claycomb from Louisville and Tomas Restrepo from Colombia stand out. Claycomb, ranked No. 115 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, has earned two PING All-Region honors and has 17 top-20 finishes. Restrepo, ranked No. 147 WAGR, boasts nine tournament victories and 19 top-five finishes. He was named Colombia’s Youth Athlete of the Year in 2025 and won the Toyota Junior Golf World Cup twice.

The Rebels will open their season September 13-15 at the Inverness Collegiate in Toledo, Ohio. The team is looking to build on last season’s success and climb higher in national rankings. Golf Channel’s preseason top 30 includes Florida, Oklahoma State, Auburn, and Arizona State, with Ole Miss rounding out the list at No. 19.
