Ole Miss Men’s Basketball Team Embarks on Puerto Rico Tour
The Ole Miss men’s basketball team is in San Juan, Puerto Rico, for the Arroyo Puerto Rico Classic, participating in two exhibition games against Puerto Rican Select Teams on August 4 and 5, according to the university’s athletics department.
Coach Chris Beard and his squad arrived in San Juan on Aug. 2 after a three-hour flight from Nashville. The team immediately began acclimating with activities including a welcome dinner and a team meeting, as part of their preparation for the upcoming season.
Throughout the trip, the Rebels will engage in various cultural and community events. These include a youth clinic in La Perla, a food and culture tour of Old San Juan, and a catamaran tour of Icacos Island. The team also plans to participate in multiple practices, film sessions, and a game against the Puerto Rican Select Team on Aug. 4.
Prior to departing Nashville, the team held a dinner at Hall’s Chophouse and visited Bridgestone Arena to discuss the upcoming basketball season. The trip serves as a key opportunity for players to build chemistry and gain experience before the 2026-27 season begins.
The Rebels’ schedule includes a series of games and events designed to foster team development and community engagement during their stay in Puerto Rico, with the trip wrapping up after the game on Aug. 5.
