Ole Miss Baseball Hosts Murray State for Midweek Game at Swayze Field
Ole Miss baseball, ranked No. 17 nationally, will host Murray State on Tuesday in a midweek game at Swayze Field in Oxford, Mississippi. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., and the game will be streamed on SEC Network+ with Jake Hromada and Keith Kessinger calling the action.
The Rebels enter the game after winning 10 of their last 12 games, including a series win over Tennessee last weekend. That series marked Ole Miss’s first victory over the Volunteers since 2018 and their first in Knoxville since 2016, according to school officials.
Ole Miss features several standout players, including Tristan Bissetta, who was named SEC Co-Player of the Week after hitting four home runs last week. Cade Townsend earned SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week honors after a quality start that included a no-hit bid into the sixth inning. Pitcher Walker Hooks also contributed two saves last weekend, bringing his season total to four.
Ole Miss’s pitching staff has struck out 463 batters this season, second in the SEC and fifth nationally, with an ERA of 3.88. Hunter Elliott leads the team with 73 strikeouts and ranks sixth in the SEC in that category. The team’s projected starting pitchers are RHP Owen Kelly (1-1, 3.66 ERA) for Ole Miss and RHP Preston Chaudoin (0-0, 3.60 ERA) for Murray State.
Murray State, coached by eighth-year leader Dan Skirka, holds a 24-16 record and has scored an average of 7.0 runs per game. The Racers are coming off a strong season, including their first appearance in Omaha and a program-record 44 wins last year. Their offense is led by senior infielder Luke Mistone, who boasts a .357 batting average and 38 RBIs. The team has also recorded three shutouts this season, though none have come during midweek games.
This game marks a rematch from the 2025 Oxford Regional, where Murray State secured two wins over Ole Miss. The Rebels will aim to extend their recent winning streak and improve their midweek record this season.
