Northwest Mississippi Community College Athletes Earn 158 Academic Honors

Jackson — The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference announced its academic award recipients for the 2025-26 academic year. Northwest Mississippi Community College leads with 158 student-athletes honored, according to league officials.

Seventy of those athletes earned Distinguished Academic All-MACCC honors for maintaining GPAs between 3.80 and 4.00. An additional 88 received Academic All-MACCC recognition for GPAs ranging from 3.25 to 3.79. These awards recognize dedication both on the field and in the classroom.

Among the recognized sports, volleyball, women’s soccer, and women’s tennis posted the highest team GPAs, with 3.77, 3.73, and 3.85 respectively. Other teams also achieved notable academic success, including women’s golf with a 3.76 GPA and softball with a 3.73. Northwest’s men’s golf team posted a 3.71 GPA, while men’s tennis recorded a 3.44. Baseball, football, women’s basketball, men’s basketball, and men’s soccer also maintained GPAs above 3.0.

Under the guidance of academic advisors Charlesy Kennedy and Tori Fugatt, Northwest student-athletes had a strong year academically. A total of 196 athletes earned spots on the Fall 2025 Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, with 157 recognized for the Spring 2026 semester.
