NJCAA Division II Softball World Series Relocated to Gardner-Webb Due to Rain

Spartanburg, S.C. — Continuous rain and unplayable field conditions at Tyger River Park have forced the postponement of Saturday’s games in the NJCAA Division II Softball World Series. The games have been relocated to Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina, about a 45-minute drive north of Spartanburg.

Play is set to resume Sunday with Murray State College and Copiah-Lincoln beginning at 9 a.m. Central Standard Time. They will play in the bottom of the fifth inning with Murray State leading 21-16. The winner will advance to face Jones College in an elimination game later in the day.

Before that game, another elimination contest between Des Moines Area Community College and Kirkwood Community College will be played. The approximate start time for the Jones versus winner of the other elimination game is 12:30 p.m. CST. If Jones wins, they would face the winner again at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

Games can be streamed at NJCAA.org/network for a fee, and live stats are available through the NJCAA website, organizers said.
