Neal Terry Wins CCS Field Athlete of the Meet for Third Consecutive Year
Atlanta — Neal Terry has become a dominant force at the CCS Championships, earning the Field Athlete of the Meet award for the third straight year, according to the conference. The senior from Belhaven led in multiple events, capturing conference titles in the long jump and triple jump.
Terry won the long jump with a leap of 7.19 meters (23 feet 7.25 inches) and secured the triple jump title with a mark of 15.11 meters (49 feet 7 inches). The triple jump performance was a personal best and set a new CCS record, according to meet organizers.
Earlier this month, Terry broke his own conference record with a 7.31-meter jump at the Rhodes 7-Way Meet. That mark surpassed his previous record of 7.30 meters set at the 2024 CCS Championships. It also stands as a program record and ranks among the best in NCAA Division III this season.
Terry’s season began modestly, with a jump under seven meters in the outdoor season. He then improved to 7.14 meters at the Belhaven Mid Week Challenge before reaching new heights at Rhodes. His momentum carried into the conference meet, where he excelled in both jumping events.
In addition to his jumps, Terry added points with a fourth-place finish in the high jump at 1.82 meters and ran on Belhaven’s 4×400 relay team, which finished third. His versatile performance highlights his busy and productive meet, according to school officials.
This marks Terry’s third consecutive CCS Field Athlete of the Meet award. He also set a new conference record with nine career First Team All-Conference selections, the most in conference history, the school said.
