Mississippi State’s Samantha Whateley Named to SEC Community Service Team
Mississippi State University announced Wednesday that women’s golfer Samantha Whateley has been named to the 2026 Southeastern Conference (SEC) Community Service Team. The junior from Johannesburg, South Africa, completed her third year with the Bulldogs in May.
Whateley participated in all 11 events this season, finishing with a 72.73 scoring average. She earned her first individual victory in the fall at the Mason Rudolph Championship, where she was named SEC Golfer of the Week.
Her win marked the second time a Bulldog won the event, and Whateley shot in the 60s in all three rounds, a first in her collegiate career. She also set season bests with 13 rounds of par or better and six rounds in the 60s, ranking eighth in program history for most rounds in the 60s in a single season.
Whateley is set to begin her senior season with the Bulldogs this fall. Fans can find the latest news and updates on women’s golf at www.HailState.com or follow the program on social media under the handle ‘HailStateWG’ on X, Facebook, and Instagram.
