Delta State Names Heidi Harbin as Marketing and Media Relations Coordinator

Delta State University announced the hiring of Heidi Clark Harbin as its new Coordinator of Athletics Marketing and Media Relations. In this role, Harbin will focus on promoting Delta State Athletics through content creation, social media management, storytelling, and communication efforts, according to an athletics department news release.

“Marketing and media relations play an important role in telling the story of the Statesmen and Lady Statesmen and creating connections between our student-athletes, alumni, fans, and supporters,” said Dana George, associate director of athletics and senior woman administrator. “Throughout the hiring process, Heidi demonstrated a genuine enthusiasm for showcasing student-athletes and supporting a team environment. Her background in communication, organization, and content planning, combined with her ability to manage multiple priorities, will help us continue elevating the visibility of our programs. We are excited to welcome Heidi to Delta State Athletics and look forward to the impact she will have across our department and campus.”

Harbin brings experience in communication, digital content, and project coordination. She previously served as an operations coordinator for Buffington Homes – Toll Brothers, managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. She also worked as a Realtor with Landmark Realty, where she created and managed social media content to engage audiences.

Her background includes athletics and wellness leadership. Harbin was the head girls soccer coach at Kirk Academy and has taught Pilates for several years. She is a former collegiate soccer student-athlete at Itawamba Community College, giving her firsthand insight into the student-athlete experience.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to join Delta State Athletics and support the marketing and media efforts of such a proud program,” Harbin said. “I’m excited to contribute to the team, help elevate our student-athletes, and continue building on the strong tradition here at DSU.”

Harbin earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing from Mississippi State University. She and her husband, Landon Harbin, reside in Cleveland.
