Delta State University Names Christelle Botha as Athletics Business Administrator

CLEVELAND, Miss. — Delta State University has announced the appointment of Christelle Botha as its new Athletics Business Administrator. In this position, Botha will oversee the department’s financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, purchasing, and reconciliations, according to an athletics department news release.

“Christelle brings a strong financial background, exceptional attention to detail, and a service-oriented approach that will greatly benefit our department,” said Dana George, senior executive associate director of athletics and senior woman administrator. “Her experience managing complex financial operations, combined with her professionalism and collaborative mindset, makes her an outstanding addition to our athletics staff.”

Botha has more than 10 years of experience in finance, accounting, payroll, and business operations. She most recently worked as a finance assistant for Meet Life Sciences Inc., managing full-cycle accounts payable, reconciling international bank accounts, and supporting financial operations across the United States and U.K. markets. Prior to that, she co-owned and managed the business operations of J-Bay Gym in South Africa, overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, payroll compliance, and administrative functions. She also served as finance manager for Group W Properties, where she directed payroll, tax compliance, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.

Her background includes experience with financial management systems such as Sage Accounting, SAP Concur, VIP Premier Payroll, and Microsoft Office. Botha holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Industrial Psychology and Labour Relations Management from North West University in South Africa and has certifications in payroll administration and legal bookkeeping.

“I am very excited to be the Coordinator of Athletic Business at DSU,” Botha said. “I am eager to bring my skills in finance and administration to the team to support the ongoing growth of the athletic department.”

She is married, has two daughters, and resides in Shelby, Mississippi.
