Mississippi State Women’s Tennis Signs Belgian Prospect Lauren Seye for 2026 Class

STARKVILLE — Mississippi State women’s tennis coach Chris Hooshyar announced the signing of Lauren Seye for the 2026-27 season. Seye is transferring from the University of Central Florida, where she played her freshman year.

The Belgian native from Drongen made a significant impact in her first college season. She posted a 19-11 singles record at the No. 5 and No. 6 positions and a 21-10 doubles record primarily at No. 2. Her performance earned her a career-high doubles ranking of No. 50 in the Nov. 25, 2025, ITF poll.

Seye helped UCF secure its second consecutive Big 12 championship in 2026 and earned the program’s 11th NCAA Tournament bid. Prior to college, she competed in ITF tournaments across Europe, reaching the quarterfinals at Novi Sad, semifinals at Castricum, and finishing as a runner-up at Liepaja. She also won a doubles title at Neunkirchen with partner Beatrise Zeltina.

Hooshyar praised Seye’s fight and competitiveness, noting her as a valuable addition to the team. “Lauren is a huge addition to our program, and I know the Bulldog community is going to love her fight,” he said.

Her junior rankings include No. 124 in the ITF Junior Ranking and No. 476 in the ITF World Ranking. Seye becomes the first signee for Mississippi State’s 2026 women’s tennis recruiting class, signaling an exciting future for the program.
