Mississippi State Women’s Basketball to Face Virginia in 2026 SEC/ACC Challenge

Mississippi State’s women’s basketball team will face Virginia in the 2026 SEC/ACC Challenge, ESPN announced Friday. The game is scheduled for Dec. 3 at Humphrey Coliseum in Starkville.

This will be the fourth meeting between the Bulldogs and Cavaliers. Mississippi State has won all three previous matchups, each by double digits. The first encounter took place on Nov. 10, 2017, in Starkville, with the Bulldogs winning 68-53.

The teams met again during the 2018-19 season in Charlottesville, Virginia, where Mississippi State secured a 72-44 victory. Their most recent matchup occurred on Dec. 21, 2019, in Las Vegas, with the Bulldogs winning 72-59.

Mississippi State has a 1-2 record in the SEC/ACC Challenge overall and a 1-1 record at Humphrey Coliseum. Last season, the Bulldogs earned their first Challenge win by defeating Pittsburgh 79-44 at home.

The date and television information for the 2026 game have not yet been announced. The full schedule for the 2026 SEC/ACC Challenge includes matchups between several prominent programs, with games spanning Dec. 2 and Dec. 3.
