Mississippi State Track and Field Wraps Up Split Meet Weekend in Florida and North Carolina
Gainesville, Florida — Mississippi State track and field completed its first day of competition at the Tom Jones Memorial and the Wake Forest Invitational on April 17. The team participated in meets hosted by Florida and Wake Forest, respectively.
In Gainesville, Caleb Kaplan moved to second in program history in the men’s hammer throw with a personal best of 61.38 meters. Khalil Antoine achieved a personal best in the high jump, clearing 2.15 meters and finishing second in the invitational section. Roury McCloyen capped the day with a victory in the men’s invitational field events, recording an outdoor personal best of 19.61 meters in the shot put. His mark ranks among the NCAA top-10 and SEC top-5 performances this season.
Meanwhile, in Winston-Salem, the Bulldogs had a shorter day of competition. Hunter Anderson competed in her second 1,500-meter race of the season. Gabreille Boulay and Milicent Kemboi finished their first 5,000-meter races of the outdoor season, closing out the final day of their meet.
