Mississippi State Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Earn USTFCCCA Academic Honors Again

STARKVILLE — The Mississippi State men’s and women’s track and field programs have been honored again by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for academic excellence. Both teams earned All-Academic Team honors after meeting GPA thresholds, with the men posting a 3.10 GPA and the women a 3.51, according to school officials.

To qualify for the team award, programs needed a minimum 3.0 GPA. In addition to the team recognition, 18 student-athletes received individual honors for maintaining a GPA of at least 3.25 and ranking among the top in their events or regions.

Eight men’s track athletes earned the individual award: Malachi Burton, Kaden Cartwright, Sherman Hawkins Jr., Roury McCloyen, Juha Närhi, Sam Navarro, Harry Ross-Hughes, and Jayden Thrower. On the women’s side, 10 athletes received the honor: Rhoda Adisa, Gabrielle Boulay, Kaylee Clark, Nelly Jemeli, Ramat Jimoh, Camryn Merryman, Anje Nel, Marie Rougetet, Louise Stonham, and Tafada Wright.

The recognized student-athletes are enrolled in demanding academic programs, including computer science, cybersecurity, microbiology, mathematics, and criminology. Mississippi State officials highlighted their dedication to both academics and athletics.
